A period of time from 1750 to 1850 were countries were in war against each other for the race to claim land on Africa.
Indian Rebellion, 1857-1858
An uprising in India that lasted from 1857 to 1858. It was crushed in 1588 but put caution into Britain when trying to socially change a colony.
Congo Free State/Leopold II
An infamous state ruled by Leopold the II from Belgium who forced cruelties upon the laborers when they didn't please the companies.
Cultivation System
A system were peasants were required to cultivate a certain percent or more of there land to cash crops to pay off there taxes to the state.
Cash-crop Agriculture
Agriculture were people grew crops that sold for money.
Western-educated Elite
An African native that was educated and also provided a higher status of an elite.
Africanization of Christianity
The blending of Christian religion with African culture were they either them still using some of their culture or still believing in their old spirits but thinking that they are evil.

The way of thinking that Africans could be identified by more than their appearance.

An African born person that wrote the most influential proposal of the views in which way we can identify who is who.
Colonial Tribalism
The idea in which people in a tribe spoke the same language, shared a common culture or was part of country thought of themselves as a tribe.
